The Other Sides of Dr. BPR

When the microscopes power down and the last spectrum fades from the screen, another world opens.

A world where servers hum like quiet companions — my homelab, a small universe I build and rebuild, learning its language one container at a time.

A world where melodies arrive unannounced. Where more than 1,500 songs have found their way onto paper — in Bangla and English — carrying stories of love, loss, justice, faith, and the strange beauty of being human. Where I sing, compose, film, edit, and release pieces of myself into the world through Dr. BPR on YouTube and Facebook.

A world where code becomes a playground — Python, Java, HTML, scripts that automate, simplify, or just satisfy curiosity.

A world where giving matters. Where weekends mean helping the poor, teaching children, supporting communities, and offering time to those who need it most.

These pieces — the music, the servers, the code, the volunteering — are not separate from my scientific life. They are the rhythm beneath it. The creativity that fuels the analysis. The compassion that shapes the purpose. The curiosity that keeps everything moving.

This is the rest of me. The part that builds, sings, learns, and gives — long after the lab lights dim.

Because life can’t be all SEM charging issues and fracture surfaces, here are a few things I enjoy outside the lab:

🖥️ Homelab Adventures: My Personal Server Kingdom

When I’m not analyzing coatings or interrogating steel fractures, I’m usually found in front of my personal server homelab, configuring containers, breaking things, fixing them, breaking them again, and pretending it was all part of the plan.

I run VMs, Docker containers, media servers, automation scripts, and experimental setups that no one asked for — but I enjoy them anyway. It’s my playground for learning, tinkering, and occasionally feeling like a one‑person IT department.

🎵 Songwriting & Music Production: 1500+ Songs and Counting

Yes, you read that right — over 1500 songs in Bangla and English. Topics include romance, heartbreak, social issues, ethics, human life, patriotism, spirituality, and occasionally whatever philosophical crisis I’m having that day.

I write, compose, sing, produce, mix, and sometimes even argue with myself about chord progressions. My music lives on my Dr. BPR YouTube channel and Facebook page, where I share original songs and music videos.

🎬 Video Creation & Editing: Lights, Camera, SEM‑era

I create and edit my own music videos — everything from storyboarding to filming to color grading. If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a materials scientist picks up a camera, the answer is: surprisingly cinematic content with suspiciously good transitions.

I use my skills in visual storytelling to bring my songs to life, and sometimes to make educational or fun content for friends and family.

💻 Coding & Tech Exploration: The Perpetual Learner

I enjoy learning and practicing coding — Python, Java, HTML, MATLAB, and whatever new language decides to trend next week. Sometimes I build tools for my homelab, sometimes I automate boring tasks, and sometimes I just write code that only works on my machine (a proud developer tradition).

❤️ Volunteering & Community Work: Giving Back Matters

Outside the lab and studio, I spend time volunteering in ways that genuinely matter to me:

  • Helping the poor and homeless
  • Supporting environmental clean‑ups
  • Participating in religious and community service
  • Teaching kids, friends, and family members
  • Mentoring deprived or under‑resourced children
  • Offering academic and career guidance

These experiences keep me grounded and remind me that science and creativity mean little unless they uplift people.

🎹 Musician at Heart: Piano, Guitar & Creative Expression

When inspiration strikes, I grab my piano or guitar and let ideas flow. Sometimes the result is a beautiful melody. Sometimes it’s a chaotic chord mash that I pretend was “experimental.” Either way, music is where I recharge.

🌍 A Life Full of Creativity, Curiosity & Community

Whether I’m analyzing microstructures, composing music, editing videos, writing code, or helping people — I’m driven by the same thing: a desire to create, understand, and contribute.

My “Beyond Work” life isn’t separate from my scientific identity — it fuels it. Creativity sharpens my problem‑solving. Volunteering strengthens my purpose. Technology keeps me curious. Music keeps me human.
